We are very pleased to announce that our school football squad have been successful in winning the inaugural Collaboration Schools Football League. We won our final game 10 – 0 beating Discovery to secure the league title, it was lovely to see so many children and parents from the school supporting the squad in our final game. There have been some terrific matches played at a very high level. We would like to congratulate all the 13 squad members who have played a part in these matches and we are all very proud of this amazing achievement.
We are looking forward to reporting on the netball squad matches as they will be playing in a similar league competition in the new year.
This week we started the second round of football matches against Discovery, Ryarsh and Kings Hill. We played Ryarsh at home it was a very competitive but enjoyable game ending in a 1 -1 draw. This result means that Mereworth are currently top of the league table after playing 4 games.
Mereworth: 7 points.
Kings Hill: 6 points
Discovery: 6 Points
Ryarsh: 4 Points
With only 2 games left to play it’s very tight at the top of the league and all to play for.
Well done to the whole of the football squad.
