Mereworth Community Primary School curriculum vision

Mereworth Community Primary School’s curriculum will provide our children with ‘Lasting Learning Experiences for Life’. At Mereworth we offer a rich and vibrant curriculum which is ambitious for all learners and aims to produce confident and self-motivated pupils who are eager to learn. Our curriculum helps children develop the essential knowledge, skills and understanding they need to equip themselves for ‘Lifelong Learning’ and the 21st century world. It encompasses the formal requirements of the National Curriculum, and is enhanced by our 5 Core School Values, taking our pupils’ education beyond the experiences of the classroom, to ensure that they are exposed to the richest and most varied learning opportunities.

The aims of our school curriculum are:

  • To foster the children’s understanding of ‘Lifelong Learning’, encouraging curiosity and a passion to learn.
  • To promote our 5 Core School Values of teamwork, respect, responsibility, honesty and perseverance to enable our children to take responsibility for themselves and their actions, be respectful and develop resilience.
  • To fulfil all the requirements of the National Curriculum in a supportive, engaging, creative environment.
  • To enable children to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills across all subject areas in order to become independent thinkers and questioners through challenging and engaging learning opportunities.
