Breakfast Club is an environment where children can enjoy breakfast and socialise with other children. Our aim is for the children to go to class ready for learning and having enjoyed their time before the school day starts.

We offer childcare in a safe, happy and relaxed environment whilst maintaining the same high level of values demonstrated throughout Mereworth Primary School. Breakfast Club operates within the school premises every morning during term time only.

Opening times are 7.15am until 8.45am. Bookings may be made in advance of the term using the MyChildAtSchool system.

Booking and payment must be made IN ADVANCE. We have a no refund policy for sessions booked and not attended.

On arrival the children have a choice of various activities including activity tables with games, Lego, books, and indoor play equipment. We aim to provide a nutritious breakfast and a relaxed start to the school day.

Breakfast is served from 7:30am with a choice of cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit and a daily selection of toasted bread items. Juice, milk, water, tea and hot chocolate are always available to drink. Please note that children booked in for breakfast should arrive by 8:00am at the latest so that they do not have to rush their breakfast. After eating, the children are able to continue playing until it is time to help clear away and brush their teeth, before getting ready to go to class in plenty of time for registration.

Wraparound care charges from September 2025

There will be an increased cost for our Breakfast Club and After School Club services with effect from 1st September 2025.

We will continue to offer the ‘Early Drop Off’ breakfast club option as we have received lots of positive feedback about how helpful this has been for working parents.

From 1st September 2025 the new charges will be as follows:

We understand that any increase in costs can be challenging for families, and this decision has not been taken lightly. Please be assured that we have kept the increase to a minimum, adding 50p onto each session. It is also important to note that this is the first price increase in the last 5 years. All income from our childcare provision will continue to be reinvested into providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for the children at our school.

Times and prices:

Session: 7:15am – 8:45am £5.00*

*Extra siblings receive a £0.50 discount on the session rate.

How to book and pay:

Online via MyChildAtSchool.

1. Go on to the wraparound care section on the MCAS app.
2. Pick the days and sessions that you need.
3. If you are booking a sibling you need to use the sibling1 code along with the session you require.
4. If you are booking a pupil premium child please use the PP code along with the session you require.

All bookings will now have to made using the app (booking forms are no longer accepted) in advance for the term ahead. Please ensure you book by Monday 21st July 2025.

Payment will need to be taken for at least a week in advance (you can pay for the whole term in advance if you wish). If we have not received your payment the week before your booked sessions, these may be cancelled. If you pay with vouchers, please let us know when payment has been made and we will add the payment to the system for you.

Changes to your booking can be made no later than a week in advance by phoning or emailing the office. The dedicated breakfast and after school email addresses will no longer be used. Please only use the office email, office@mereworth.kent.sch.uk.

We can still accept emergency bookings in exceptional circumstances. These would need to be to be booked by calling the office.

Please note; the 8am early drop off does not need to be booked in advance. You will be charged for this childcare service on your MCAS app.
