Visitors & Trips

Children in every year group are given the opportunity to participate in a range of school visits to enhance and extend their learning each academic year.

These are linked to the curriculum and can include visits to local attractions such as the food and farming ‘Living Land’ exhibition at Detling Showground, trips to London art galleries or the aquarium, Herstmonceaux Science Centre and many more. We also arrange workshops and visitors in school including historical cooking over a camp fire in Forest School, Roman days, theatre/dance/creative workshops, science activities, scooter workshops and ‘bikeability’.

Children in the KS2 choir have the opportunity to take part in the ‘Young Voices’ concert at the O2 Arena and Hillfest music festival in Tonbridge.

Year 6 has visits from magistrates and a police officer, workshops on managing money, and takes part in ‘Safety in Action’ – an event designed specifically to help prepare children for the increased independence associated with moving on to secondary school and how to react to new scenarios safely and responsibly.

Finally, Year 5 and Year 6 each attend their own residential trip during the summer term.
