Our Harvest Celebration Assembly
We were delighted to come together as a whole school to celebrate Harvest with a special assembly led by Reverend Gary.
Our celebration gave us an opportunity to think about where our food comes from and to appreciate all the people, places and processes involved in bringing food to our tables. We reflected on the importance of being thankful for the food we have and remembering those who may not have enough.
We enjoyed a wonderful Harvest song from our KS1 Singing Club, as well as songs from the whole school. It was fantastic to hear everyone joining together and sharing in the spirit of our celebration.
A very special part of our Harvest celebration was our opportunity to give to others. We are extremely grateful to our families for their kind donations, which will be given to the Pilsdon Community in West Malling. Your generosity will help this important local charity and the people who rely on its care and support.
Thank you to everyone who helped make our Harvest celebration such a meaningful occasion. It was a wonderful reminder that Harvest is not only about giving thanks for what we have, but also about sharing, caring for others and coming together as a community.

Visit to West Malling Abbey – Light of the World concert
We were delighted to take our Year 5 and Year 6 children to West Malling Abbey to experience Light of the World, a special performance by the Marian Consort and Chamber Domaine.
The children had the opportunity to experience live classical and sacred choral music in the beautiful and historic setting of West Malling Abbey. The programme included music by contemporary composers, including the renowned composer Arvo Pärt, whose music is known for its peaceful, reflective and atmospheric qualities.
The performance gave the children the opportunity to hear professional singers and musicians up close and to experience how music, voices and the acoustics of a historic building can come together to create a very special atmosphere.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to broaden their musical experiences, encounter live performance and appreciate music in a setting with such a rich history. We hope they enjoyed this memorable experience and came away with a greater appreciation of classical, choral and sacred music.

Our pupils have enjoyed 7 exciting sports workshops delivered by the fantastic coaches from IMPACT Sports. Throughout the workshops, children from every class had the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports, including Ultimate Frisbee, Cheerleading, Cricket, Tag Rugby, Dodgeball, Kickball, and Pickleball and Tennis.
Each session was packed with fun, teamwork, and active learning. The children developed new skills, improved their confidence, and enjoyed trying sports that were new to many of them. It was wonderful to see everyone participating with such enthusiasm and determination.
A huge thank you to the IMPACT Sports coaches for delivering engaging and inspiring sessions that encouraged all of our pupils to stay active, learn new skills, and most importantly, have a wonderful time!
We are looking forward to more fun workshops next academic year!
Mereworth shines at the Tonbridge Primary Arts Festival - July 2026
We had a fantastic time taking part and we are incredibly proud of all the children who represented the school with such enthusiasm, confidence and talent.
Our KS2 choir achieved wonderful success, bringing home two awards:
· 1st Place – Lower KS2 (Years 3 & 4) Musical Theatre Song with "This Is Me"
· 3rd Place – Upper KS2 (Years 5 & 6) Pop Song with "Riptide"
Alongside their award-winning performances, our Lower KS2 choir also performed the pop song "Diamonds", while our Upper KS2 choir delighted the audience with the musical theatre favourite "Never Enough".
We were also thrilled with the results of the festival's Art Competition, themed "Under the Sea". You can see the entries here. Congratulations to our prize winners:

Courtney Orange Visit - March 2026
We had a fantastic day in March when former gymnast Courtney Orange visited our school. The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the circuits training activity and attending the assembly, where Courtney shared how he lives out so many of our School Values through his life experiences and achievements.
Courtney is a six-time gymnastics champion who competed in the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Although a knee injury sadly brought his gymnastics career to an end, talent scouts soon recognised his incredible dancing ability, leading him to perform with top music stars.
Courtney now works as a wellbeing motivator, inspiring young people to stay active, confident, and positive. He certainly motivated all of us, and we will remember his inspiring reminder to “Believe in yourself” because anything is possible!
