OPAL Play Leaders
Our OPAL Play Leaders are friendly volunteers chosen by their classmates to help make playtimes even more fun and enjoyable for everyone! They take on the role of playtime helpers and role models, suggesting exciting games, supporting younger children, and listening to ideas about how to make play even better.
By encouraging kindness, creativity, and teamwork, our Play Leaders help make sure that everyone feels included, valued, and happy during playtime.
Responsibilities and Roles
Our OPAL Play Leaders have an important job in making playtimes fun, fair, and inclusive for everyone. Their roles include:
- Helping with games: They set up play equipment, lead activities, and introduce new games to make playtime exciting and varied.
- Supporting younger children: They lend a helping hand to younger pupils, listen to their worries, and guide them in making friends and enjoying playtime.
- Representing their peers: They share ideas and feedback from other students to help teachers and staff make playtimes even better.
- Encouraging inclusivity: They make sure everyone is included and has the chance to join in the fun.
- Promoting positive behaviour: By setting a great example, they help create a happy, safe, and respectful playground for all.
